Approximately 15 tons of lychees will be exported through a collaboration of Toan Cau Food Import Export Joint Stock Company and Chanh Thu Fruit Import Export Company Limited. Bac Giang lychees have entered the Japanese market for the second year in a row.

Bac Giang province has developed a plan for COVID-19-free lychees production that includes medical check-ups for farmers and workers doing lychees harvesting, packaging, and transporting; and granting area codes for lychees.
Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong said, “We have taken every precaution to ensure that Bac Giang lychees are of exceptional quality, safe to eat, and export-ready. We have worked with Japan to obtain geographical indication (GI) certification for Bac Giang lychees; and asked the Plant Protection Department to evaluate our production procedures so that the lychees can be exported to Japan as initially planned.”
Bac Giang's lychees growing area for export is estimated to be 440 hectares this year with an output of 3,600 tons, of which 1,800 tons are for export to Japan.
