(VOVWORLD) -Thi Vai terminal in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Wednesday welcomed a ship carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG), the first shipment of LNG to Vietnam, the Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) said.
Le Phuoc Khoi, Deputy Director of Gas Project Management Company at PV GAS said that the shipment brings a new energy source to contribute to the national economic development and energy security.
“When LNG arrives in Vietnam, it will almost solve the gas shortage. It’s more important that the problem of emissions is addressed. This first shipment will be tested for the entire project, in order to make the best use of it, save gas without having to burn it, and deliver it to users,” Khoi said.
