(VOVWORLD) - Localities, which have temples dedicated to the Hung Kings, held incense burning ceremony at the same time with the main commemoration of the Hung Kings’ death anniversary in Phu Thu province.

In Gia Lai province, people gathered at the Hung Kings’ Commemorative Complex at Dong Xanh park in Pleiku City, to pay gratitude toward the Hung Kings and ancestors and pray for good luck for families and the nation.

Do Xuan Thu, Head of the Association of Vinh Phu people in Gia Lai province, said: “Since the Hung Kings’ Temple was built here in 1996, we came to burn incense every year. We consider Gia Lai province our second homeland. We’ll never forget our ancestral land and we’ll teach our children of their root.”

A commemoration was held at Hung Kings’ Commemorative Complex at the Historical and Cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City. Nguyen Trung Hieu, a youngster from Binh Tan district, said: “I’m proud to attend the ceremony to pay gratitude to the merits of the Hung Kings. Uncle Ho told us that the Hung Kings built the nation, we have to protect it. Young people like us will always uphold our ancestral tradition.”

Tran Thi Bich Lan from District 3 said: "With the tradition of remembering the source of the water we drink, I solemnly burn incenses for our ancestors. I wish that all people will contribute to national prosperity and strength as our ancestors’ wish.”

The Hung Kings’ death anniversary on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month is a national holiday, when all Vietnamese promote great national unity to generate strength for national construction and defence.
