The event was held by the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and UNESCO in Hanoi. Workshop participants agreed on the need to create policies to enable the community to contribute to preserving heritages even though they have already participated in tourism by opening restaurants and hotels, producing souvenirs, and offering transport services. Associate Professor Doctor Dang Van Bai is a member of the National Heritage Council:“Our preservation activities need to involve the community, which includes state agencies, researchers, tourist enterprises and visitors. Those who live in the heritage areas play a more important role. Their daily activities, culture and practices are part of our heritage”.
