(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on Monday/ today chaired a seminar on mobilizing resources to develop transportation infrastructure and logistics in the Mekong River Delta. Mr. Hue, who is also Head of the Steering Committee of the Southwestern Region, said the seminar seeks investment methods for regional transportation and logistics. At present about 80 to 90% of investment resources have been spent on road transportation, 1% on civil aviation, and the rest on waterways.

The Ministry of Transport said resource mobilization plans should match the national strategy on socio-economic development and the implementation of the pilot regulations for socio-economic connectivity in the Mekong River Delta in the 2016-2020 period. After the seminar, the participating agencies will submit to the government their midterm investment plans.
