(VOVworld) – A meeting of former National Assembly deputies was held in Hanoi on Tuesday to mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s first general election.
National Assembly chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the 1946 general election was an important step towards Vietnam’s increased global status, contributing to Vietnam’s struggle for national independence, nation building, and integration. He said: “Generations of National Assembly deputies have left us a great legacy and they have made important contributions to Vietnam’s legislation.”
