(VOVworld)- A closing ceremony of the 2012 National Tourism Year of North Central Coast region and Hue City will be held in Hue next Saturday. Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism says nearly 500 artists from Thua Thien Hue, Quang tri, Quang Binh and Ha noi will perform at the ceremony. The art performance will feature the theme of the National Tourism Year “Heritage Tourism” introducing unique cultural characteristics of Hue and north central provinces. Ngo Hoa, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee says: “During the National Tourism Year 2012, many activities have been taking place to attract tourists. These activities have contributed to promoting the image of Vietnam, its land and people, increasing the tourism growth and benefiting enterprises and local people”.

During the National Tourism Year 2012, nearly 30 cultural, sport and tourist events were held. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with relevant ministries and sectors promoting heritage, culture and historic relic tourism. A forum on international cooperation in tourism development among countries in the East West Economic Corridor, the 2^nd international orchestra festival, a program connecting enterprises with culture and many festivals also took place.
