Online meeting on socio-economic development in 2016

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung chaired a national online meeting to discuss Vietnam’s socio-economic development and state budget estimates for 2016 in Hanoi on Monday.

Delegates also reviewed inspection activities, the handling of petitions and denunciations, corruption prevention, and administrative reforms in 2015. Other discussion topics included improvements in the business environment, increasing national competitiveness, developing e-commerce, and the enforcement of the Enterprise and Investment laws. Prime Minister Dung said: “The government will listen to all opinions and issue a resolution for implementation early next year. This resolution will adhere to Party and National Assembly resolutions toward achieving development targets by 2020 to be set by the upcoming national Party congress.”

In 2015 Vietnam’s GDP grew 6.68%, the highest in 8 years. This economic growth is expected to ensure social welfare as well as political and social stability.
