Russia discusses Vietnamese-Japanese relations

(VOVworld) - The Institute of Far Eastern Studies under the Russian Academy of Sciences held talks on consolidating the Vietnamese-Japanese relations as an important factor in ensuring security in East Asia.

At the roundtable in Moscow on March 22, Sergey Luzyanin, Deputy Director of the Institute, said Vietnam and Japan are establishing an important economic dialogue mechanism in the region. The recent upgrade of their relations to extensive strategic partnership has served their national interests and contributed to maintaining peace and security in East Asia.

Other speakers presented in-depth analysis on the Vietnamese–Japanese relations from different perspectives, taking into account historical factors, geographical position, areas of cooperation, and their diplomatic policies, and their impact on the region and the world. Russian researchers said considering specific outcomes of Mr. Sang’s recent visit to Japan, the two countries’ relations will fuel economic development in the interest of the two nations, the region and the world at large.
