Experts agreed with this point at a seminar on maintaining independence and self-reliance in international integration, organized by the sub-Committee on National Defense, Security, External Relations and the Central Theoretical Council in Hanoi on Thursday.
They affirmed the Communist Party of Vietnam’s consistent principle of respecting independence and self-reliance. They said international integration is a must in economic development. In order to protect independence and self-reliance, it’s necessary to boost technology, control the market, and strengthen economic capability.
Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Office Le Quang Vinh said: “An independent and self-reliant economy has multi-lateral relations with other economies, not an isolated economy. In order to be independent, it need to be strong.”
