Nirukt Sapru, the bank's CEO for Vietnam, ASEAN, and South Asia Cluster Markets, said most of Vietnam’s macro-economic indicators improved last year, helping minimize risks of market volatility and increase export competitiveness compared to other ASEAN countries. Sapru said Vietnam will remain one of Asia’s fastest growing markets this year, as its FDI attraction and its State Bank’s management ability and policies have earned the trust of the business community.

Vietnam’s manufacturing sector will see double-digit growth in 2018, thanks to FDI and growing demand for electronics in global markets, Standard Chartered said. It predicted that Vietnam will attract nearly 15 billion USD in FDI this year, mainly in electronics production.
