Thousands of pilgrims flock to temples, pagodas during Lunar New Year

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese people are flocking to pagodas and temples across the country on the first days of the Lunar New Year to pray for peace and luck.

Tran Quoc and Quan Su pagodas and Tay Ho and Quan Thanh temples in Hanoi attract large crowds of pilgrims. A visitor shared: "On the first day of the Lunar New Year, I visit the pagoda to pray for good health, happiness, and prosperity for my family as well as for the nation."

Another said: "Today, the weather is nice and the scenery at the pagoda is beautiful. I love Quan Su Pagoda’s majestic and ancient charm. 2025 is a special year for our nation. I can feel everyone’s excitement and enthusiasm."

In Lang Son province, pagodas, temples, shrines, and historical relics attract thousands of visitors. Head of the Buddhist Sangha in Lang Son province, Venerable Thich Quang Truyen said: "In celebrating of the New Year and the Party’s founding anniversary, we decorated the pagodas and temples and the surroundings to ensure welcoming space for pilgrims who come to pray for peace and prosperity for the nation and for their families."

In Quang Binh province, many people visit temples and pagodas at the beginning of a new lunar year to seek not only peace and happiness, but also inner tranquility.

Chairman of Le Thuy district’s people committee, Nguyen Dinh Hoa said: "From the first to the fifth day of Tet, Hoang Phuc pagoda in Quang Binh province welcomes not only locals but also a large number of visitors from other region. It’s lively here. The pagoda offers New Year blessing and also lectures to guide people and Buddhists towards a virtuous and meaningful life."
