Vietnam aims to ensure human rights

(VOVworld)- The HCM National Academy of Public Administration and the Government’s Steering Committee for Human Rights have organized a seminar to review 50 years of the International Convenants on Civil, Political and Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights and their implementation in Vietnam.

Vietnam signed the two Convenants in 1982 and reserved one article concerning the principle on equality of two nations’ sovereignty. Since then, Vietnam has made great efforts to ensure the respect, protection, and safeguarding of human rights considering it to be a goal and motivation for boosting its growth. Realizing its commitments to the Convenants, Vietnam has attained a number of social, economic, and cultural achievements which have been internationally recognized.
