At the signing ceremony, both sides expressed their interest in cooperation in trade, investment and Vietnam’s exports of agriculture, garments and textiles to Haiti. Under this agreement, they will effectively carry out a memorandum of understanding on rice trading and involve Vietnam’s construction firms in Haiti’s infrastructure and housing construction. The new deal will establish a joint committee to exchange information and support the enterprises of both countries. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said: "Haiti considers Vietnam a reliable partner in many fields. Vietnam will provide processed products, construction services, electronic parts, clothing, and footwear for Haiti’s national construction projects. The intergovernmental committee will issue future guidelines for broadening bilateral cooperation".
