Under the agreement, Vietnam and India will cooperate to celebrate each other’s major anniversaries and propose the two governments acknowledge individuals and groups who have significantly contributed to stronger bilateral ties. The two countries will host seminars, forums, trade fairs, and delegation exchanges to provide a better understanding of each country’s business environments. The organizations will also support media agencies in promoting tourist attractions and work together to enhance cooperation between localities.

Padhihari Bijay Kumar, Secretary General of the Indian Society, said: “This Memorandum of Understanding will go a long way to deepen our historical relations, thus making our ties prosper. We are sure and pleased to stand by the people of Vietnam in any situation and any moment in the future to further our friendship, cooperation, and all-round development”.

Vietnam and India officially established a strategic partnership in 2007 and upgraded it to a comprehensive strategic partnership last September during an official visit to Vietnam by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
