Vietnam makes efforts to promote human rights

(VOVworld) – Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga insisted on Vietnam’s efforts in promoting human rights and implementing sustainable growth at a UN debate on human rights on Tuesday and Wednesday.

She said that as a member of the Human Rights Council and the Economic and Social Council, Vietnam will continue working with all partners, to further promote human rights across the world and advance the implementation of sustainable development goals.

The high-level discussion was the third and last session of a chain of thematic debates under the UN General Assembly President’s initiative.

The debate on human rights coincided with the 50th founding anniversary of the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the 30th anniversary of the Declaration on the Rights to Development.
