At the conference, corporations, industry associations, and import-export businesses discussed opportunities to promote two-way trade and Vietnam’s goodwill to harmonize the bilateral trade balance.
Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy said the Ministry has adopted a project to boost export to the US, focusing on more transparent supply chains, digital traceability, stronger branding and greener farming to meet tough environmental criteria in key markets like the US, the EU and Japan.
Mr. Duy said: “Associations and businesses need to review and standardize their production and strictly comply with international regulations. I called on enterprises to increase investment in deep processing technologies, cold chain logistics and quality control systems, restructure their production to align with market demands, especially the US market, and strengthen linkages with farmers and cooperatives under value chain models."
"It is essential to actively participate in training programs and stay updated on new US regulations and trade remedies measures. Finally, we need to diversify export markets, particularly major ones that have signed Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with Vietnam and further tap into the potential of the domestic market," said Mr. Duy.
