(VOVworld)- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Saturday organized a program called “Vietnamese join hands in national construction and defence” to mark Vietnam Family’s Day. Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and more than 200 representatives from 32 ethnic groups, students and armed forces attended the event.

In his address, Mr. Nhan highlighted the significant role of Vietnamese families in national construction and defence. Nhan said:“By celebrating Vietnam Family’s Day, we hope to affirm family’s role in Vietnamese culture and history. 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam have different cultures and traditions but all share common cultural values of Vietnamese people. Let’s join hands and unite to promote our solidarity tradition to enhance prosperity and happiness”.

The art program was held to show Vietnamese people’s patriotism and affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over seas and islands.
