These photos have been selected from the album “General, Commander in Chief Vo Nguyen Giap” by the External Information Service (Ministry of Information and Communications), which was published on the 100th birth anniversary of the General.

         Born by Kien Giang river (Le Thuy district, Quang Binh), Vo Nguyen Giap soon joined the revolution. In the photo, Vo Nguyen Giap and his parents, daughter Hong Anh (white shirt) and children in 1946.

      In 1930, at 19, during the Xo Viet Nghe Tinh event, Vo Nguyen Giap was arrested in imprisoned in Thua Phu prison (Hue).

General Vo Nguyen Giap was a member of the standing committee of the General Staff in the general offensive and spring uprising in 1975. In a secret telegram on April 7th, 1975 to all military units heading to Sai Gon, the general wrote: “Faster, faster and faster. More aggressive, more aggressive..."
