Born by Kien Giang river (Le Thuy district, Quang Binh), Vo Nguyen Giap soon joined the revolution. In the photo, Vo Nguyen Giap and his parents, daughter Hong Anh (white shirt) and children in 1946.

         One of the first articles by Vo Nguyen Giap with the pen name Hai Thanh called “Space and modernization” published on the “Voice of People” newspaper in 1929 of Huynh Thuc Khang.

      In 1930, at 19, during the Xo Viet Nghe Tinh event, Vo Nguyen Giap was arrested in imprisoned in Thua Phu prison (Hue).

  On December 22^nd, 1944 in Cao Bang, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army was established with 34 members led by Vo Nguyen Giap

         President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap discussed military tactics for the Diien Bien Phu campaign (1954). Before the general’s departure, the President asked: “You go quite a long way, is there any difficulty in commanding? ", the General answered: "Sir! The only problem is the distance, permission to ask for your opinions and those of the Party Politburo” ". President Ho Chi Minh said: "You are entitled to decide yourself and report later ". The President said: "This battle is very important, fight if you are certain of victory, don’t fight if you are not sure ".

         General Vo Nguyen Giap at 17:30 on March 13^th, 1954 launched the Dien Bien Phu campaign

         The Dien Bien Phu campaign began. A pack of 900 kg of explosives was detonated at 20:30 on May 6^th, 1954 on Hill A1 at the order of the Military Command to all units on Dien Bien Phu battlefield

         From December 1974 to January 1975, the Party Politburo gave the order to liberate southern Vietnam to reunify the country. General Vo Nguyen Giap was a member of the standing committee of the General Staff in the general offensive and spring uprising in 1975. In a secret telegram on April 7^th, 1975 to all military units heading to Sai Gon, the general wrote: “Faster, faster and faster. More aggressive, more aggressive..."

         The general received former US Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara in 1995. While receiving US delegations, the general explained more about Vietnam’s people’s warfare: “The best general of Vietnam is the people and the nation. 
The Americans lost the war because they did not understand that general ".

         In 2006, during a visit to Vietnam, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez presented General Vo Nguyen Giap with a replica of the sword of Hero Simón Bolívar

         The general visited former battlefields. In 2004, he returned to Dien Bien Phu, visited De Castries bunker- the Command Center of the Dien Bien Phu fortress
