Early Tet celebration in Chan May-Lang Co coastal area

(VOVWORLD) - Border Guard Command of Hue City and the local authorities organized a Lunar New Year (Tet) program for people in coastal Chan May-Lang Co commune on Tuesday.

The program titled "Spring on the border and islands - A heartwarming Tet of the army-people bond" included a "Zero-Cost Booth" and deliveries of 400 Tet gifts to disadvantaged families and 300 gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, and disadvantaged households worth 24,000 USD.

Ms. Truong Thi Quyt, a resident from Binh An village, said, “I was very moved to join in today's program. Rice, cakes, jams, and so on... This Tet holiday, my family is warm and happy, thank you to the border guard.”

The annual program demonstrates the responsibility and affection of the Border Guard towards the people in border and island areas and helps disadvantaged families celebrate a warm and joyful Tet holiday.

Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu, Political Commissar of the Hue City Border Guard, said, “The program is organized to express gratitude and care for the people and soldiers in border and island areas during Tet. This is also an activity the Border Guard to strengthen the bond of solidarity between the army and the people, building a peaceful and stable border and together firmly protecting the nation's borderland.”
