Attendees included Representative of Poland’s Foreign Ministry, ambassadors of ASEAN countries, Russia, and Japan, experts on Asia-Pacific region, and local reporters. Head of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Polish Foreign Ministry Michal Kolodziejski emphasized Poland’s position that involved parties maintain stability in the region, resolve differences through peaceful measures, and avoid unilateral action that cause tension in the East Sea. Malaysian ambassador to Poland Ahmad Fadil Shasuddin backed the resolution of East Sea issue on the basis of the international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. The participants say the world powers need to speed up the settlement of dispute in the East Sea to maintain peace and stability in the region.
