(VOVWORLD) - KienGiang province held a meeting to collect opinions from agencies, organizations, individuals, and residential communities on a project to develop Phu Quoc into a unique island urban area until 2040.

Under the plan Phu Quoc city will cover a natural land area of 590 square kilometers by 2040 while its sea area will be determined during the project implementation.
The project aims to ensure harmony between comprehensive, sustainable, and harmonious economic development, environment, and culture protection while ensuring national security.
The project aims to build Phu Quoc into a unique island city and a center of high-quality tourism, commerce, and health care services.
