Navy Region 3 saves hundreds of fishermen in 5 years
(VOVWORLD) - In the last five years, the Navy region 3 has saved 24 fishing boats and hundreds of fishermen and provided free medical treatment and medicines to 150 fishermen. They have also disseminated information about national sea and island sovereignty and contributed nearly 4,000 days of labor work to people in the central coastal region.

The Navy region 3 has helped build 20 houses for disadvantaged officers and soldiers and contributed 6.5 billion VND to the Fund for the Poor and Fund for National Disaster Prevention and Control.
Colonel Pham Tien Chinh, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of the Navy Region 3, says: “The Naval force has helped ensure safety for fishermen to go fishing, especially during natural disaster and flooding. We have saved many fishermen whose ships were sunk at sea. We have also strengthened communications to mobilize the locals to work closely with the naval force in safeguarding national sea and island sovereignty.”
