Each gift package, worth more than 150 USD, included a fishing handbook, a battery set, a LED light and battery combo, and a first-aid kit.
They also presented 4 tablets and 20 scholarships, each worth 120 USD, to children of disadvantaged fishing families who have overcome difficulties to achieve good academic results.
The program “Lighting up the Sea with Fishermen”, launched by the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper in early 2023, has been carried out in coastal provinces and cities across Vietnam.
Quang Ninh is the 24th beneficiary of the program, whose aim is to support and encourage fishermen and seek ways to lift the European Commission’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood.
