The Rach Gia Bay six-lane overpass is expected to be built with reinforced concrete in accordance with urban and marine space planning.

Once completed by 2030, the bridge will contribute to reducing traffic pressure on Highway 63, while creating motivation to expand urban space and promote economic development in the area along Rach Gia Bay.

Kien Giang province is also developing an investment policy using ODA capital for a 60 km long coastal road connecting with Ca Mau province.

Rach Gia Bay belongs to the West Sea and connects to the Gulf of Thailand. The bay runs through Chau Thanh, Hon Dat, and An Bien districts and Rach Gia city of Kien Giang. It is part of the Kien Giang world biosphere reserve recognized by UNESCO in 2006.
