(VOVWORLD) -The Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard Command and the Mengzi Border Guard of China on Thursday began bilateral patrol for 2025 on the A Pa Chai border demarcation line.

They conducted point-to-point, line-to-line, and side-to-side form of patrol from border marker No. 3 to border marker No. 1 of the Vietnam-China land border, spanning 3.2 km.
The two sides cleared the patrol route and the area around the border markers; met and shared information about the actual situation in the border areas managed by each side. The border and border markers were found intact with no signs or incidents of violations of regulations.
At the end, Vietnamese and Chinese forces met and evaluated the results of the patrol, agreeing to continue to maintain the correspondence and hotline phone contact.
They pledged to jointly handle border management, protection, crime prevention and control issues. The two sides will strengthen bilateral patrols, promptly detect or prevent law violations, especially illegal entry and exit, human trafficking, smuggling and other crimes; and jointly maintain border security and stability.
