The border areas have a large number of ethnic people, most of whom are struggling economically. At the beginning of the new school year, schools have collaborated with local authorities and social organizations to upgrade facilities, train teachers, and give scholarships to students.
In Thanh Hoa province, the border districts of Quan Hoa, Quan Son, and Muong Lat have refurbished schools. Trung Xuan primary and secondary school in Quan Son district has built 8 new classrooms, 6 functional rooms, and a principal's office. Trung Ly secondary boarding school in Muong Lat district has been financed to build a 2-story building with 12 rooms. A kitchen, a dining room, several toilets, and 6 functional rooms were repaired.

Schools in Ia O commune, Ia Grai district, Gia Lai province, are finalizing preparations for the new school year.
Kpuih Môn, a teacher of Jarai ethnic group at Bui Thi Xuan primary school, said: "We’ll continue to update teaching methods, encourage the children to go to school, and pay close attention to every student. In order to help the Jarai children learn quickly, I create a close, comfortable relationship with them so they don’t feel self-conscious or shy. I convey information in an easy-to-understand way and combine learning with games to make the lesson lively and interesting.”
Every year, localities in border and other remote areas work with donors and philanthropists to make it easier for children to attend school.
The Red Cross Society of Binh Phuoc province has coordinated with the Organizing Committee of "Helping children attend school in the border areas" to provide 300 sets of school supplies, 2,400 cartons of milk, and 45 scholarships to poor students and families in Tan Tien commune, Bu Dop border district.
