At the Routes Asia 2022 air travel and aviation convention last Sunday, Da Nang hosted a program called “Da Nang – a potential destination in Asia” to promote its advantages and investment opportunities in aviation and logistics and introduce Da Nang International Airport’s expanding capacity between now and 2030. 6 airlines are reopening direct flights from Da Nang to Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Incheon.

The program included a range of tourism promotion events, forums on Asian flights, the Fantastic Da Nang Festival, the national beauty contest, the Asian Golf Tournament, and the Da Nang Golf Tourism Week.

Da Nang’s investment environment has always been praised by investors as dynamic and open. Tran Phuoc Son, Deputy Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee, says the city will soon submit to the government a plan to make Da Nang a regional financial hub. The Government has approved the establishment of the National Innovation Startup Center in Da Nang and authorized the city to consider forming a non-tariff zone, upgrade Da Nang University to a national university, and upgrade passenger terminal T1 at Da Nang International Airport.

“We want to introduce a new perspective of Da Nang, where the potential for development is not limited to tourism. We hope that through open dialogues investors will find new business opportunities and partnerships and recognize Da Nang’s great potential as an investment destination,” Mr. Son said.

Da Nang’s Gross Regional Domestic Product increased an average of 7.7% annually from 2016 to 2019. So far this year, the city's GRDP has increased an estimated 7.23%.

Da Nang has been among the top provinces on the Provincial Competitiveness Index, the Administrative Reform Index, the Information Technology Application Index, and Smart City Building and Digital Transformation Index.
