This year’s festival features upgraded stages and stands, with a floor area spanning 1,500 square meters. The stage design, inspired by hands, conveys a message of a peaceful and humane world in line with the DIFF 2024 theme: “Made in Unity – Global Connection – Radiance on Five Continents”.

The stands are divided into four sections, providing more than 10,000 seats. The opening night will feature a showdown between Vietnam and France.

Le Khac Hung, Captain of the Da Nang-Vietnam team, says their performance will blend gentle and high-pitched sounds to evoke strong emotions. The team will use over 4,000 fireworks, combined with hundreds of color effects, according to Mr. Hung.

“We will have a show with three chapters: ‘Sky Lanterns’, ‘Humanity Harmony’ and ‘National Prosperity’. They depict the theme ‘Sky Dance’ over a timeframe of 21 minutes and 45 seconds,” said Hung.

The French team’s performance, titled “Dragon Dance”, draws inspiration from Da Nang’s Dragon Bridge, symbolizing majesty, youth, and power. Established in 2013, the ArtEventia team is the defending champion from DIFF 2023. Their show will feature a dragon spewing colors and emotions representing love and courage.

This year, a much-anticipated and unprecedented performance will be the “Jetski and Flyboards” sports art show which combines water and aerial acrobatics with extreme sports. Top athletes from around the world will showcase their skills in a performance produced by a renowned Australian producer. Additionally, the opening night promises an explosive art program involving famous singers from Da Nang and across Vietnam.

DIFF 2024 will run through July 13, featuring five nights of fireworks competitions between the host team Da Nang-Vietnam and seven international teams from France, Italy, the US, Germany, Poland, China, and Finland.
