In their business trips to the US, China, and South Korea Da Nang city leaders renewed efforts to promote foreign investment in the semiconductor industry. In the past year Da Nang signed memorandums of cooperation with key partners, including Synopsys and Intel Corporation.

Universities in Da Nang are offering human resource training programs for the semiconductor chip industry and short-term courses for lecturers and students in related fields.

According to Le Hoang Phuc, Director of the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training (DSAC), the city plans to train 5,000 individuals in semiconductor microchip expertise and aims to attract investment in this field.

Phuc said: "We have received considerable interest from major corporations in semiconductor chip design and artificial intelligence. Da Nang has signed strategic cooperation agreements with partners aligned with the strategic needs of businesses to develop an ecosystem that includes domestic businesses and startups."

Da Nang is implementing four key strategies to boost semiconductor chip development: strengthen human resource training, improve infrastructure, adopt incentives, and promote international cooperation. Da Nang boasts industrial parks that meet international standards and facilitate the expansion and development of businesses in this field. The National Assembly's resolution on urban government organization and specific development mechanisms has motivated Da Nang to pilot specialized mechanisms and policies for investing in semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence.

Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People's Committee, said: "Some of the world's leading businesses are currently exploring and establishing offices in Da Nang. We have new incentives for semiconductor industry development. In addition to its High-Tech Park, Industrial Parks, Centralized Information Technology Park, and Software Park, Da Nang will also establish a Free Trade Zone. We anticipate that semiconductor chip manufacturers and their supply chain, will benefit from incentives within this zone."

Da Nang possesses the necessary environment, infrastructure, human resources, and high-quality education and training facilities to meet the requirements for developing the semiconductor microchip industry.
