This year, 19 outstanding individuals and collectives were recognized for their exceptional achievements in various sectors.
Among the 6 individuals honored, Mr. Pham Dinh Duan, a worker at the Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, part of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), stood out for his contributions over the past 20 years.
Mr. Duan has introduced numerous technical innovations to enhance productivity and ensure workplace safety. His achievements have earned him the titles Outstanding Skilled Worker of the Group, Emulation Fighter of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and National Excellent Young Worker.
Duan said: “I’m very honored to be one of the few workers among over 5,000 employees at Vang Danh Coal Company to receive the ‘Glory Vietnam’ award. I believe I must continue to improve myself through study and hard work. In 2021 I collaborated with different departments to develop an idea to extend conveyor belts, an innovation that was recognized with a Creative Labor Award by the trade union. This initiative has reduced costs and brought greater efficiency and profit to the company.”
Among the 13 collectives recognized, Ha Long University in Quang Ninh province was the sole institution from the education sector. The university has made significant contributions to improving educational standards, developing human resources, nurturing talent, and promoting socio-economic development. Its national-level research project on “Green Growth-Oriented Marine Economic Development in Quang Ninh”, and its initiatives in sustainable shrimp farming, eco-tourism, craft villages, the digital economy, the green economy, and innovation, have all been impactful.
Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep, Rector of Ha Long University, said: “Ha Long University is honored to be the only educational institution selected for recognition this year. This is a great motivation for us to continue striving to realize our aspirations.”
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said the individuals and groups honored each year represent a generation of brave, professional, responsible, and innovative Vietnamese workers:
“We need to work together to awaken the aspirations within every worker, every Vietnamese citizen. Every honoree is aware that their success is not just a personal success but the collective success of their agency, enterprise, local community, and ultimately, the nation. National development will enable every individual to grow and succeed,” said Mr. Khang.
Launched in 2004, the "Glory Vietnam" program has, for 21 years, spread positive values, fueled motivation, and inspired people across Vietnam to take responsibility, dream boldly, commit wholeheartedly, and contribute meaningfully. 313 individuals and collectives have been honored through over the years.
