“Hanoi in my eyes”, a movie of Hanoi’s lovers

(VOVWORLD) - “Hanoi in my eyes”, is a movie being produced by Hanoi Radio and Television and the Hanoi Cinema and Television Center to mark the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day on October 10th. It’s part of a TV series of 40 episodes entitled “For the love of Hanoi”, directed by Dao Thanh Hung.

The movie features five girls who come from five localities but share a love for Hanoi. They meet by chance and their lives intertwine. The film’s funny, romantic scenes make some familiar places in Hanoi – Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the Hanoi Opera House – fresh and colorful.

A number of People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, and famous actors will appear in the movie, but to create some freshness the director has cast some younger actors, including some with no professional experience.

People's Artist Tran Luc said: “The young cast members are very good. They play small roles in the movie, delivering their own perspectives of Hanoi. The movie shows a contemporary Hanoi full of dynamic young people, something that never grows old.”

Music director Le Hoang Phong says the movie’s title song ‘Hanoi in my eyes’ combines a melody reminiscent of old songs with a more contemporary style.

“This movie will stir emotions in lifelong Hanoians and people who have come to Hanoi from other places to work and live. Modern Hanoi is a blend of many cultures, but it hasn’t lost its traditional essence, so the movie’s music track includes both new and old songs,” Phong said.
