Phu Quoc witnesses a surge in foreign arrivals

(VOVWORLD) - In the first seven months of this year, Phu Quoc welcomed nearly 4 million visitors, with international arrivals exceeding 560,000, reaching 84.4% of the annual target. The total revenue in the reviewed period was 510 million USD.

Airlines have increased flights to Phu Quoc significantly. In the first half of the year, the island received over 1,900 international flights, a 186% increase compared to the same period last year.

Phu Quoc International Airport expects 22-26 international flights per day in the latter half of the year, surpassing early-year figures. The increase is particularly notable from the South Korean and Taiwanese (China) markets.

Recently, Eastar Jet began operating flights from Cheongju, Korea, to Phu Quoc with a frequency of 4 flights per week.

This marks the fourth Korean airline offering direct flights to Phu Quoc, joining Korean Air, Jin Air, and Jeju Air. Additionally, Vietravel Airlines has started flights connecting Taipei, Taiwan (China) and Phu Quoc, with a frequency of 3 flights per week, continuing until August 2025.
