A COVID-19 checkpoint has been established on the way to Cai Lan industrial park in Ha Long city, QuangNinh province, to check the body temperature of passers-by.

Le Thi Ngoc, an employee worker of Van Luc Vietnam Electronics Company, said: “After passing the outside checkpoint, we check out temperature and clean our hands with sanitizer one more time before entering the factory. In the past, 4 people sat at each work table. Now we have just two. We also keep a distance when we eat at the canteen. The managers frequently remind us to wear a mask. Preventive measures help us worry less about the pandemic.”

The Quang Ninh provincial Economic Zones Management Board said 40 businesses have resumed operation, with a total of 20,000 to 28,000 workers. Hoang Trung Kien, Deputy Head of the Board, said they have two teams monitoring pandemic prevention at industrial zones.

“Quang Ninh province has asked businesses to arrange vehicles pick up workers at their home and give them a coronavirus test before work. We have worked with local authorities to monitor disinfection at industrial zones,” Kien said.

Cam Giang district in Hai Duong province remains under medical quarantine. Workers who live in the district and have tested negative for the coronavirus, are allowed to go to work. Businesses which are at high risk for COVID-19 are advised to suspend operation. Since last week, Hai Duong province’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control has launched massive testing.
