During the final round, Duc Phuc captivated the audience with “ Phu Dong Thien Vuong,” a song composed by Ho Hoai Anh in honor of Vietnam’s legendary Saint Giong. Dressed in a modernized áo dài (long dress) and wearing a non la (Vietnamese traditional conical hat), Duc Phuc infused the performance with unmistakable Vietnamese identity. The piece opened with verses from Nguyen Duy’s celebrated poem “Vietnamese bamboo,” praising the resilience and heroism of the Vietnamese people across generations while celebrating the strength of solidarity and aspiration for progress. The arrangement’s blend of pentatonic melodies with contemporary electronic music created an innovative sound. Duc Phuc showcased his versatility by incorporating rap elements, adding an unexpected twist.

Duc Phuc said: “This is an incredibly rare opportunity. You don’t often get the chance to stand on an international stage and share the beauty of Vietnam with the world. That’s why I asked my team to create a brand-new song for this competition—one that would embody the spirit, culture, and identity of the Vietnamese people.”

In a congratulatory letter, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called Duc Phuc's triumph a personal honor and a source of national pride in Vietnam’s contemporary music and culture. Vietnam’s debut at Intervision 2025, he said, sent a powerful message of unity and friendship, proving that “music transcends differences to bring nations together.”

This year’s Intervision show drew an estimated 4.3 billion viewers worldwide, many of whom praised Duc Phuc’s performance. Russian media used phrases like “a brilliant performance” and “stunned the audience” to praise the Vietnamese singer’s performance, showing that his success went beyond scoring points, capturing hearts with its stagecraft and emotional depth. AP praised Duc Phuc’s performance, which impressed the international jury with a unique fusion of contemporary music and Vietnamese cultural elements. Reuters noted that Duc Phuc’s song was based on a folktale about repelling an enemy army, and Sweden’s Aftonbladet called the song “a powerful, majestic ballad.”

Russian outlet Gazeta.ru praised Duc Phuc’s performance as truly lively, calling it  culture with a modern twist: rice fields, conical hats, special effects, and stunning lighting, spectacular. Rossiyskaya Gazeta said: “Duc Phuc possesses a soaring, beautiful voice. He sang with passion and emotion. His performance was exceptional, weaving Vietnamese melodies and traditional attire that radiated cultural pride.”

Duc Phuc’s Intervision 2025 victory is a milestone in his career and a springboard for his international ambitions. It reflects the determination of a new generation of Vietnamese artists to bring Vietnam’s music closer to global audiences through creativity, cultural exchange, and bold innovation.
