Localities are preparing and upgrading school infrastructure and assigning teachers to get ready for a new successful academic year ahead. This year, the education sector will continue to reform teaching methodology, improve teaching aids, strengthen the school network, support disadvantaged school children, and organize training courses to improve teacher quality.

Hanoi has built 52 new schools and upgraded more than 600 schools for more than 2.2 million school children in the city. In the new school year, the city will focus on further improving the education quality.

Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said: "We want to narrow the gap between schoolchildren in rural and city areas by providing rural children with sufficient knowledge and skills and sending good teachers from the city to rural areas to share their experience with their colleagues there."

Schools in the city are accelerating COVID-19 vaccination for pupils.

Dinh Ha Nam, Deputy Director of the Gia Lai provincial Department of Health, says: "Communications play the most important role. We have to go to every family to persuade the parents to bring their children in for vaccination. We also organize mobile vaccination in villages."

The 2022-2023 school year will begin on September 5 and end on May 31, 2023.
