The army has set up 100 quarantine areas capable of sheltering 36,000 people, including 362 foreigners. People who have symptoms of Covid-19 will be transferred to a hospital for testing.

Colonel Do Hong Thai, Director of the Military School of Hanoi’s High Command, said: “People in quarantine include one 2-year-old child. The soldiers take their responsibility seriously and have set up quarantine areas to maximize public safety. Our staff and cadets consider themselves a pioneer force.”

Luong Van Ha and his wife, who live in Mao Khe, Quang Ninh province, recently returned to Vietnam from France. They are now in quarantine at the Military School of Hanoi’s High Command. “I have received everything I need to maintain personal hygiene as well as nutritious meals. We do physical exercise every day. We are receiving good care here. The epidemic is spreading worldwide, but nothing can defeat the determination of the Vietnamese government, the Prime Minister, and the army, and the great unity of the Vietnamese people,” Ha said.

Vietnam has entered the 3rd phase of combating the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the most critical phase and there is good reason to expect a positive outcome.

Deputy Defense Minister Tran Don said: “Military zones are handling quarantine activities and following the instructions of the Military Medicine Department and the Ministry of Health to minimize the spread of infections, particularly to military staff. People in quarantine areas and their families should be informed of all quarantine rules. Our actions are sincere, thoughtful, and conscientious, but principled.”

Since the Covid-19 epidemic came to Vietnam, the Defense Ministry has carried out systematic actions in the spirit of fighting an enemy to defend the people of Vietnam.
