Trong and all Vietnamese people are determined to uphold revolutionary morality and Party disciplines.
Implementing cadre affairs, the Communist Party of Vietnam has always focused on training and fostering people with talent and fine morality to encourage them to contribute to the nation while also resolutely punishing violators. During 35 years of national renewal, the Communist Party of Vietnam has implemented many resolutions, decrees, and decisions on cadre affairs. As a result, the Party now comprises of cadres with professional qualification and competence. The Party has created a favorable environment for them to contribute. But the degradation of political stances, morality and lifestyle of some Party officials and members is worrying.

The 4th Plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee issued a resolution on strengthened Party building and rectification, and prevention and elimination of degradation of political thoughts, morality, lifestyles, and signs of self-evolution and self-transformation. Key tasks and strong solutions include strengthening Party disciplines, strictly implementing Party organization rules, and handling violators in a timely, strict, transparent, and fair manner. Under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, Party Politburo, the Party Secretariat and Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, the Party building and rectification have been resolutely, consistently, professionally, strictly, and humanely implemented. Many complicated problems have been addressed and violators punished promptly. Many violators have shown regret and apologized to the people and the Party General Secretary and President for their wrong doing which has undermined the prestige of the Party. A record number of Party officials including 100 cadres under the Party Central Committee’s management have been disciplined for wrong doing during the current tenure.
In his closing speech at the 11th Plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee, Mr. Trong said punishing violating Party members is a great anguish but there’s no other way. All is for the common cause of the Party, the country, and the people. This is a valuable lesson for all. Each member of the Party Central Committee, each Party official and member, and each state servant needs to regularly foster and sharpen their morality, set example, and mirror themselves to improve themselves and avoid material temptation which would bring unacceptable consequences and loss, said Mr. Trong, adding that achievements in Party building and rectification have strengthened people’s confidence in the Party and State and inspired determination to realize Party resolutions to make Vietnam grow in prestige and status.
The Party has always cautiously, strictly, publicly, and transparently handled violations particularly before the Party National Congress, to ensure the correct selection of personnel for the new Party Committee.
Vietnam’s achievements during the last 35 years of national renewal and during the 12th Party Central Committee’s tenure have evidenced the Party’s efforts and determination to deserve the people’s trust.
