(VOVWORLD) - Hung Yen province has reserved lots of resources for building transport infrastructure and the infrastructure of industrial zones, considering them the foundation for socio-economic development towards becoming a modern industrial locality. Transportation projects have met local needs and beautified Hung Yen, a delta province known for a long history of cultural traditions.

Last year, Hung Yen promulgated a resolution on the province's transport development program until 2025 with a vision to 2030 and an implementation plan.
Under the plan, transportation routes will be built to create corridors for industrial parks and concentrated industrial clusters, improve goods circulation, facilitate the development of industry, services, and industrial parks, and promote socio-economic development in disadvantaged areas.
The transportation system will be connected with international border crossings, ports, and airports to attract investment to Hung Yen and generate revenue in line with the master plan on socio-economic development of the northern economic region with a vision to 2030.
Hung Yen’s road network connects with the national system of expressways and highways. The road connecting the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway with the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway and the extended Hanoi-Hung Yen inter-provincial road are two key traffic projects for which the Prime Minister attended the ground-breaking ceremony on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of the founding of the province, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Provincial Party Committee, and the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of Hung Yen province.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised Hung Yen for having the right focus for investment in line with the 13th National Party Congress Resolution to turn Hung Yen into a modern industrial city.
“These two routes are more than 50km long and will cost more than 4.4 trillion VND (177 million USD), two thirds of which has been raised by Hung Yen. The Central government pays just one third. This exemplifies the province’s strong determination,” said Mr Chinh.
Once these two roads open to the public, there will be three axes connecting Hung Yen with Hanoi, Hung Yen with the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway, and Hung Yen with the Hanoi-Ninh Binh expressway. That will boost investment attraction and socio-economic development in the coming years.
Tran Quoc Van, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, underscored the need to maximize the efficiency of the routes and effectively use the land around the project areas.
According to Van, “The Hung Yen administration is doing planning and calling for strategic investors to implement infrastructure development projects, industrial zones, urban infrastructure and services to continue making the most of investment and development resources, thus promoting economic restructuring, creating breakthroughs for the province’s development, and soon making Hung Yen an industrial, modern, fast-growing, and sustainable locality.”

Between 2021 and 2025, Hung Yen is expected to have 106 transportation projects under construction. These are important roads connecting the national transport system in Hung Yen, creating a breakthrough in the development of transport infrastructure, improving the capacity of roads, enhancing inter-region links, and driving the development of industrial zones and clusters and local economic growth.
At the 8th session of the provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man called on Hung Yen to maximize its advantage as the gateway to Hanoi’s southeast by improving traffic flow from Hanoi to Hung Yen via Hanoi capital region’s Ring Road 4.
“This will boost economic development and strengthen the defense and security of the Red River Delta region, including Hung Yen province. Hung Yen must take the initiative in land compensation, resettlement, and recovery to ensure the quality and progress of construction work,” said Man.
According to the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) ranking 2021 published in May 2022, Hung Yen’s PCI rose 14 places to 39th. Multiple component indexes, including the land access index, climbed compared to 2020. That’s why investment in road building has strong public support. Transportation projects are driving Hung Yen's sustainable development.
