VOV -
(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City has unveiled their initial draft design for the 19th version of the Nguyen Hue Flower Street, an annual event that is held each year to celebrate the Lunar New Year, or Tet.
With the 2022 Lunar New Year set to usher in the Year of Tiger, the vast majority of concepts and decorations for the upcoming event will primarily focus on models of tigers.
Most notably, the street will feature an array of photos which aim to show sympathy with people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst also extending sincere thanks to frontline workers in the country’s ongoing fight against the coronavirus.
The flower street stretches for over 700 metres throughout Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in District 1. The site hosted annual celebrations for the traditional Tet since 2004.
The highlight of the street are 26 food stalls which display a range of local specialties, as well as an area specifically for artists to hold art performances.
A special corner will be established to display flower arrangements, with the aim of raising public awareness of the necessity of environmental protection.
The flower street is scheduled to open to visitors from 7 pm on January 29, the 27th day of the 12th lunar month, with the site due to run to 9 pm on February 4, or the fourth day of the first lunar month.
