Vietnamese Navy Gepard frigates join military parade in Russia
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam People’s Navy has sent two of its Gepard-class frigates to take part in a military parade in Russia to mark the founding anniversary of the Russian Navy.

 Gepard-class frigates 015 - Tran Hung Dao (HQ-015) and 016 – Quang Trung (HQ-016) of the 162nd Brigade, Region 4 Navy, represent the Vietnam People’s Navy at the event. |
 During the parade, two Vietnamese national flags erected on the two frigates fly high alongside two Russian national flags. Then the command ship passes by, all officers and soldiers on board the two frigate perform the formal greetings according to the regulations of the Vietnam People’s Navy. |
 The active and responsible participation of the two frigates demonstrates the strong support of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense as well as the Vietnam People’s Navy for international events organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense as well as the Russian Navy. |
 This is the second time the Vietnam People’s Navy has sent its ships to Russia to attend the military parade in celebration of the founding of the Russian Navy. In 2019, frigate 016-Quang Trung set sail toward Vladivostok for a similar event. |
 While in Vladivostok, the two Vietnamese frigates also take part in the Sea Cup 2021 competition as part of the International Army Games 2021 due to take place in Russia from August 22 to September 4. |
