102 new COVID-19 cases reported at noon Tuesday

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam reported additional 102 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday noon.

The 102 new COVID-19 cases include eight imported cases and 94 local infections detected in Hồ Chí Minh City (54), Hưng Yên (14), Bắc Giang (11), Hà Tĩnh (8) Bắc Ninh (3), Hải Phòng (2), Đồng Tháp (1), and Lạng Sơn (1); 82 of these were in locked down or quarantine areas.
The Ministry of announced the 77th and 78th COVID-19 related deaths on Tuesday morning.
Both were men from Ho Chi Minh City with severe underlying conditions.
The new infections brought the national count to 16,238, including 14,452 domestic and 1,786 imported cases. As many as 6,519 patients already recovered from the disease.

The number of locally-transmitted cases since the fourth wave of outbreaks hit the country on April 27 rose to 12,882, including 3,745 recoveries.

Bac Giang has the highest number of infections in the fourth wave, at 5,678, followed by HCMC with 3,548.
