16,300 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Vietnam on Friday

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam on Friday reported 16,278 new COVID-19 infections, of which 24 were imported and 16,254 were recorded domestically, down 163 from the previous day. Hanoi has the most cases: 2,723. In the past 24 hours, 14,633 cases were given the all clear and 233 deaths were reported.

As of Friday Vietnam administered over 157.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine, including nearly 7.2 million third doses. The coverage rate of at least one dose of vaccine is 99.8% and of full basic doses is 92% of the population aged 18 years and over.

The Ministry of Health is closely monitoring the pandemic situation caused by Omicron variant and consulting with the World Health Organization to update information about the new variant.
