(VOVworld) – 180 Catholic followers have been honored for their good work in leading a cultural lifestyle in line with an emulation movement launched by the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Vietnam.

The emulation movement aims to encourage people to do better in production, economic development, poverty reduction and charity activities. After 5 years, the movement has helped improve living standard of the Catholic followers, assure social order and security and create favorable conditions for them to practice religion and lead a secular life. Speaking at a ceremony to honor outstanding Catholic followers, Nguyen Thien Nhan, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said: “On behalf of the Party and State, I congratulated the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Vietnam on their effective work over the past time. This helps promote patriotic emulation movement and national solidarity”.
