55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos ties marked in Laos
(VOVWORLD) - A grand meeting took place in Vientiane on Tuesday to mark the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and 40th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation.

Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachith, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisolith, and National Assembly Speaker Pany Yathotou attended the event. The Vietnamese delegation was led by National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong. In his address, President Volachit underlined that the special solidarity between the two countries is always nurtured and fostered in all circumstances. Ms. Phong said that Vietnam and Laos are determined to maintain this relationship.
