63rd anniversary of Agent Orange Disaster commemorated in HCMC

(VOVWORLD) - The Ho Chi Minh City Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin held a ceremony on Tuesday  to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2024).

Major General Tran Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the Association, highlighted the ongoing support programs for Agent Orange victims, including building charity houses, providing gifts, and supporting livelihoods. These efforts have helped many victims gain independence and stable employment.

During the ceremony, the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin launched a fundraising program titled "Lighting up the Future," calling for greater community involvement to support the health, spirit, and integration of Agent Orange victims. The Association also emphasized the need for public engagement in the international fight for legal justice for the victims.

On this occasion, the Association awarded the “For Agent Orange Victims” Medal to individuals who have significantly contributed to supporting the victims and their offspring.
