Activities to mark 68th anniversary of Vietnam’s War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day

(VOVworld) – An art program was held at the ancient Quang Tri citadel in Quang Tri province on Saturday to pay tribute to martyrs, heroic mothers and those who rendered service to the revolution on the occasion of Vietnam’s War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day July 27.

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Dinh The Huynh said the Vietnamese Party and state are always concerned about caring forheroic mothers, war veterans and families who rendered service to the revolution: “Vietnamese people and soldiers will forever remember Vietnam’s tradition of remembering the source of the water we drink. We will never forget the sacrifices of the martyrs and war veterans for the course of national liberation, construction, and defense.”

Within the program’s framework, commercial banks committed 5 million USD to help Quang Tri province build houses, medical and educational facilities, improve care for war invalids, and refurbish historical relic sites. A memorial house to acknowledge the contributions of heroic mothers was inaugurated in Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province on Sunday. The project, worth 350,000 USD will be used for educating younger generations on Vietnam’s revolutionary traditions.
