Angela Merkel plans to get government in place soon
(VOVWORLD) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel has vowed to form a government as soon as possible after coalition negotiations between the Christian Democrats (CDU), the Social Democrats (SPD), and the Greens collapsed Thursday.

Merkel said Saturday that Europe needs a strong Germany, so it is desirable to get a government in place quickly. But her current administration can still handle daily tasks, she added. Merkel also said she’s ready to enter coaliton talks that the centre-left party SPD has agreed to join. But she emphasized that any negotiation should be based on mutual respect.
