(VOVworld) – The 25th Arab League (AL) Summit on Wednesday released a joint statement calling for a political solution to the Syrian conflict despite the opposition forces in Syria asking for more powerful weapons to change the balance of power. The statement refers to the 2012 Geneva peace talks and appeals for a peaceful power transition in Syria. AL leaders expressed their full support for Palestine’s rejection of recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, a move likely to destroy the US-backed peace process.
