(VOVworld) – A symposium on peace and reconciliation was held on Friday by the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (AIPR) as part of the ongoing ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM-47) in Myanmar.

In his address, ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh praised the institute’s initiative to organize the event. He also underscored the significance of AIPR’s activities, especially the establishment of ASEAN 47 years ago. Minh said the setting up of AIPR expressed the aspiration and determination of member countries to build and maintain peace in the region. Minh called on the AIPR to continue to seek new measures to realize ASEAN commitments on peace for the benefits of the current and future generations.
